Blog Sketch Challenge

Morning - another post from me...two days in a row! Here is a sketch by my friend Sue below and you can find her blog here!
Another Prom photo of Jack with one of his very best friends (they were together but have decided to be just friends!) just before they left for Prom.  I have used MCS kit - June Ltd Ed featuring Kaisercraft Kaleidoscope collection.
Everything came from the kit - I just added the wooden stars and bling

Back Scrapbooking!

I'm back in the scrapping zone!! I had a lovely day at Littlegreen Crop Circle - and I'm hoping to continue with the scrapping, need to do a bit of organisation of my crafting area, but I'm getting there!!
So I started of with some challenges for UKS - Below is the monthly challenge, to follow the sketch.
I have used a photo of my gorgeous son at his Prom - didn't he look so smart in his suit!
I have used Prima Cartographer collection of papers and embellishments with the addition of AC Thickers, a few punched out flowers and a butterfly from Etsy.

July week one challenge - Theme Summer/Sports, Patriotic colours and 5 or more photos
These are photos of Sam at Sports day and I have used Candy Dots and Chevron punch - both from Stampin Up.

July week two challenge - was to follow a Bingo board and if you did four in a row you got maximum points!
More Prom photos of the girls and Jack this time - and I did a hand drawn boarder, two or more photos, butterflies or birds, inking or misting.  I have used my March My Creative Scrapbook kit - featuring Prima 'Something Blue' collection - added some flowers and butterflies.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look and pop back soon and I'm sure there will be more work to show you on my blog!

Some more cards

Sorry no scrapbooking for a while, I've just been so busy - but here are a couple of cards I made for work - both leaving cards - one for a baby and one off to medical school.  The image below is Saturated Canary that I have hand coloured in using Prisma pencils, the papers and flowers are from my stash.

This image is a Whiff of Joy image - its really for a get well soon card - but I thought it was perfect for someone going off to medical school!  The papers and flowers are all Prima Cartography collection.

A weekly blog tour!

Last week I was invited by Sue to participate in a blog hop tour.  You can see Sue's post by clicking on her name.  Sue has asked me to answer the following four questions!

1. What am I working on?
2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
3. Why do I write/create what I do?
4. How does your writing/creating process work?

1.  Well currently at the moment not very much!  I've seemed to have lost my mojo a bit, which is very sad as I love crafting.  I think it is a combination of work (very stressful at present) and a anxious 15 year old who is in the middle of his GCSEs (thankfully they finish this week!).  However I do try and complete some UKS challenges.  The following few are some that I did but didn't get a chance to upload, I use kits from a lovely American scrapbook site, Pam puts together the most lovely kits and I always love my LO's I do using her kits, you can find them at My Creative Scrapbook.

 2. How does my work differ? I don't think it does, I have my own style and fellow scrappers always comment on how I can manage to use butterflies and bling on a male/boy page.  I feel as they are my pages for my albums I can put butterflies on the pages!

I also make cards - not many as its probably more a time thing than anything else, but I mainly use pre-coloured images as I don't get the time to colour my own stamped/digi images.  I always use up the rest of my kits to make cards and they nearly always have a butterfly on them and a bit of bling!!

These are two cards I have made for work colleagues - we are having a bit of a baby boom at work so lots of baby cards to be made!

3.  Why do I create what I do?  The scrapbooking started with photos, I love taking photos and my biggest subjects are my boys (and the furry variety).  I love to go back to the photos and record the memories, treasure what my boys did in their childhood, record their milestones.  Remember important days (Birthdays and Christmas), holidays and special days out.  I don't want the photos to be sitting on a computer or just being on Facebook - I love to look through an album!

I am also a Stampin Up demonstrator and I run a card club every month for a lovely group of ladies - we always make three cards and you can see details of all my cards and how to buy and SU goodies via my SU blog - here
Here are last months workshop cards!

I am very excited that Project life is also coming to SU - I have been a Project Lifer since 2010/2011 and now you can get goodies via SU is very exciting - so hopefully soon I'll have some PL pages using my new SU goodies!! - Watch this space!

4.  How does my creating process start?  Normally with the photo and often with a sketch/challenge.  I recently been on a design team and I always find a sketch really helps - Sue's blog (link above) always does a fab sketch challenge!  I use Pinterest for ideas and especially ideas for cards!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my blog and I hope to nominate Rebekah (my little sister - who does the most amazing cards) and my friend Jane who makes beautiful cards and scrapbook pages - so please check out their blogs next week!

Missing in Action!

Missing in Action - yep, that's me!!  I have not touched a scrapbooking page since March!  Lots of reasons, too busy with work and the boys, lost my mojo, tired and exhausted, minor car accident, lost inspiration, feeling a bit low, its all just caught up with me! I even went to Ally Pally to get some inspiration and most of the goodies are still in their bag!

However some special Birthdays in April, forced me to make some cards!
I have used some pre-coloured images from Lili of the Valley.
Added some flowers, Prima swirls, Butterflies and Pins!

The images are new (one of my AP purchases!) and so is the Butterfly die.

Even used some old eyelets that have been in my stash for years!!
The sentiments are from Waltzing Mouse stamps.
A very special 18th Birthday card for my God-daughter - Blue and yellow are one of my fav combos!

A quick male card (I struggle with Male cards) with some Tim Holtz metal arrows!

Thanks for looking and hopefully normal service will resume soon!
